Single Sign-On Roadmap

Here's our roadmap for bringing seamless, unified access to every campus portal via SiberID.

Phase 1

Foundational Email Access

Currently, access to SiberID still relies on your registered email address. This maintains stability and security while we transition to a fully centralized credential system.

Phase 2

Student Identity Synchronization

Soon, students can log in directly using the university portal. Through this integration, you can securely claim and link your Student ID (NIM) to your SiberID account.

Note: Just a heads-up: for now (and potentially permanently), your SmartCampus account cannot be used for this synchronization process.
Phase 3

Lecturer Identity Synchronization

We have successfully expanded portal access to lecturers. Through this integration, lecturers can now securely claim and link their NIP to their SiberID account.

Note: Currently, lecturers can only claim their identity using their NIP.
Phase 4

Campus Wi-Fi Authentication

We're integrating Single Sign-On with the campus Wi-Fi network. This means students and staff will eventually use their SiberID credentials to connect to the internet.

Note: For the time being, your Wi-Fi password will be different from your email login. Since our portal uses Google OAuth, the Wi-Fi network needs a separate, dedicated credential.
Phase 5

Application Ecosystem Integration

The goal is to bring all campus applications under one roof. Whether it's the e-Learning (LMS), Library, or external tools like Google Workspace, everything will be connected to your SiberID.

Phase 6

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To better protect your data, we'll roll out an extra layer of security (like OTPs or Authenticator apps). This will be especially important for accounts handling sensitive institutional information.

Phase 7

Alumni & Guest Identity Management

Alumni and external guests will get their own dedicated way to sign in. This allows prospective students or visiting researchers to access what they need without cluttering the primary user directory.

Phase 8

Passwordless & Biometric Sign-On

Imagine logging in without ever typing a password. We're looking into supporting modern methods like Passkeys, Face ID, or Touch ID for a much faster and safer login experience.
